Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Rodhan Salman, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the college organized a development workshop titled: “Developing Women’s Soft Communication Skills to Enhance Their Participation in Peace and Security,” on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., held at the Psychological Counseling Room in the college, with the participation of several female lecturers and administrative staff. The workshop was supervised by the Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit, Prof. Dr. Thanaa Baha Al-Din Abdullah, who presented key topics aimed at developing women’s skills in various areas, including effective communication, negotiation, critical thinking, crisis management, organization and planning, teamwork, decision-making, leadership, flexibility, professionalism in the workplace, and adapting to technological development. The workshop also focused on soft communication skills such as effective communication, active listening, emotional intelligence, persuasion, and building social relationships, emphasizing their importance in strengthening women’s roles in leadership, decision-making, and dealing with different social and professional situations. The event witnessed active engagement from participants through discussions and exchange of ideas, which enriched the workshop content and contributed to achieving its training objectives. This activity comes within the implementation plan of the National Strategy to Combat Violence against Women and Girls for 2026 (Prevention Pillar / Paragraph 2), which highlights the importance of developing women’s soft skills to enhance their effective participation in peacebuilding and decision-making.
