Department of Artificial Intelligence holds a scientific course on Iraqi women between marginalization and political empowerment

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Furat Al-Sultani, the Department of Artificial Intelligence at Al-Mustaqbal University organized a scientific course entitled “Iraqi Women Between Marginalization and Political Empowerment”, presented by Assistant Lecturer Banen Nazem Sarhan, on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, for first-year students on campus. The course aimed to highlight the reality of Iraqi women and the challenges they face across various fields, with a focus on ways to enhance their role in political and societal empowerment, and to build students’ awareness of issues related to equality and active participation. The course included scientific topics and interactive discussions with students, addressing the concept of political empowerment, the importance of women’s participation in decision-making, as well as presenting models and experiences reflecting the evolving role of women in society. The session witnessed clear engagement from students through questions and contributions that enriched the discussion and enhanced academic understanding of the topic. This activity comes the executive plan of the National Strategy for Iraqi Women (2026). Axis: Empowerment and Participation Paragraph: Holding seminars and lectures on the challenges facing Iraqi women and promoting their role in society and decision-making. The course also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 5 on gender equality and women’s empowerment.
