Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Furat Al-Sultani, the Department of Artificial Intelligence at Al-Mustaqbal University organized a scientific workshop entitled “Preventing Cyber Extortion and Protecting Women”, on Monday, April 20, 2026, in the Medical Building – Medical Laboratories, with the participation of first-year students. The workshop was supervised and delivered by programmer Noor Hassan Obaid, aiming to spread digital awareness and enhance students’ cybersecurity culture, particularly regarding the risks of cyber extortion and ways to prevent it. The workshop included a detailed explanation of modern cyber extortion methods and ways to protect against breaches, in addition to raising students’ awareness about the importance of maintaining digital privacy and using technology safely and responsibly. The workshop witnessed notable interaction from students, with many questions and discussions that contributed to enhancing practical understanding of the topic and developing their skills in dealing with cyber threats. This activity comes within the executive plan of the National Strategy for Iraqi Women (2026). Axis: Protection and Digital Security Paragraph: Organizing awareness workshops on the risks of cyber extortion, prevention methods, and promoting digital security among students. The workshop also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 5 on gender equality and Goal 16 on peace, justice, and strong institutions.
