The College of Education at Al-Mustaqbal University, in cooperation with the College of Engineering, carried out an awareness activity on the negative effects of smoking and drugs on society. The activity was supported by the Dean of the College of Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Roudhan Salman, with the participation of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Shaker. The activity was organized by the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Education, under the supervision of the Head of the Unit, Professor Dr. Thanaa Bahaa Al-Din Abdullah, in collaboration with the Head of the corresponding unit at the College of Engineering, Ms. Raghad Safaa Mohammed. The activity took place on Sunday, April 20, 2026, at 10:30 AM, on the third floor of the Engineering Building, as well as around the university campus. It targeted students from the Departments of Architectural Engineering and Chemical Engineering. The activity included delivering awareness content covering the definition of drugs, their types, causes of spread, as well as their health, psychological, and social effects, in addition to methods of prevention. It also highlighted the dangers of smoking and its negative impact on both individuals and society. Various awareness methods were adopted, including the distribution of educational and psychological guidance posters illustrating the causes and effects of smoking and drugs, along with prevention methods. These posters were displayed across different university buildings to ensure the messages reached the widest possible number of students. The activity aimed to enhance students’ scientific and cultural awareness, emphasize the role of university students in maintaining their physical and mental health, and promote conscious, positive behaviors that help in avoiding smoking and drug use. This activity comes as part of supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 4, which focuses on ensuring quality education and promoting health and behavioral awareness among students. #College_of_Education #AlMustaqbal_University
