The College of Education at Al-Mustaqbal University, represented by the Women’s Affairs Unit and in cooperation with the University’s Women’s Affairs Division, organized an awareness workshop entitled “Training Women Leaders in Political Participation and Development.” The workshop was held under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Roudhan Salman, and supervised by the Head of the Unit, Professor Dr. Thanaa Bahaa Al-Din Abdullah.
The workshop was held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 12:00 PM, in the Psychological Counseling Room at the college, with the attendance of a number of female faculty members and administrative staff.
The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Mari Imran Mahdi, Head of the Women’s Affairs Division. It covered several key topics, focusing on the concept of women’s leadership and the methods of training and preparing women for active participation in political development. It also highlighted the importance of women’s leadership roles in building a cohesive and stable society.
In addition, the workshop addressed the importance of Iraqi women possessing resilience, patience, and the ability to make sound decisions, as well as maintaining a balanced role within the family, society, and professional life, ensuring that each role is fulfilled at the appropriate time.
The workshop adopted an interactive approach, where participants actively engaged in discussions and shared their opinions, contributing to enhancing understanding and exchanging experiences on the topic.
This activity is part of the implementation of the National Strategy to Combat Violence Against Women and Girls for 2026 (Axis Three / Paragraph Two). It also contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4, which focuses on ensuring quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.
