Women's Affairs Unit Conducts a Study on Scientific Empowerment and Female Participation Levels

On Saturday, April 18, 2026, the Women's Affairs Unit at the College of Engineering Technology, Mustaqbal University, prepared a specialized study to assess the level of women's empowerment and their participation in scientific events. Held under the patronage of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, the study aligns with the activities of Sustainability Week. Supervised by Dr. Ahd Hamid and in cooperation with the Women's Affairs Division, the study was conducted by Assistant Lecturer Shahad Ghalib from the Cybersecurity Engineering Techniques Department. The results revealed a significant female presence, with a participation rate of 35%, reflecting the positive contribution of female students in enriching research and scientific activities within the college. The study recommended strengthening support and empowerment mechanisms to increase women's effectiveness in technical fields, in line with the Third National Plan for Women, Peace, and Security (2025–2030). This initiative fulfills Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 5 (Gender Equality), reaffirming Mustaqbal University's position as the leading private university in Iraq in promoting equality and sustainability within the academic environment.
