On the sidelines of the 11th edition of the Eurasia Higher Education Summit and Exhibition (EURIE 2026), Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Future University, met with the Turkish Minister of Higher Education, Professor Dr. Erol Özvar, President of the Council of Higher Education of Türkiye (YÖK).
The meeting discussed prospects for academic cooperation between Future University and reputable Turkish universities, with a focus on the following areas:
Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence: The discussion explored expanding educational opportunities in digital technologies, where Professor Özvar presented advanced Turkish programs in cybersecurity and innovative educational models supporting the health and digital agriculture sectors.
Green Technology and Sustainability: Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi emphasized Future University’s strong interest in climate change, resource management, renewable energy, and the green economy, noting that the university prioritizes these disciplines in its strategic plans.
Curriculum Modernization and the Bologna Process: The President of Future University reviewed ongoing steps to update academic curricula in line with the Bologna Process to ensure quality education and alignment of outcomes with international standards.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi presented a commemorative gift representing the rich heritage of Babylon (the Lion of Babylon) to Minister Özvar, as an expression of cultural and academic ties, and in appreciation of the efforts of the Council of Higher Education of Türkiye in supporting international cooperation pathways.
