Entrepreneurship Division

The Entrepreneurship Division is a university unit within the Science and Technology Parks Department, which was established on 26 November 2025 pursuant to University Order No. 6067 The Division aims to promote a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation among students and members of the community by providing a stimulating environment that encourages creativity and transforms ideas into practical and implementable projects It seeks to support students in developing their entrepreneurial skills through training programs, practical workshops, consultancy services, and competitions. The Division also works to build partnerships with public and private sector institutions to support startups and entrepreneurial ventures The Entrepreneurship Division serves as a leading platform for empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs and encouraging them to establish startups and community initiatives that contribute to sustainable economic and social developmentThe department admits students in the first academic year who have graduated from the scientific and applied branches of secondary school with a minimum average of 62%. The duration of study is four years, and the language of instruction is English. Upon graduation, students are awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, equivalent to the degrees granted in the same field by other Iraqi engineering colleges. Graduates also receive membership in the Iraqi Engineers Union, giving them the right to practice civil engineering in both governmental institutions and the private sector.

Through these efforts, the Division aims to enhance students’ capabilities, serve the community, and contribute to knowledge development

  Objective

To foster a culture of entrepreneurship, creativity, and innovation among students and members of the community To empower students to transform their ideas into viable and implementable entrepreneurial projects To provide training programs and practical workshops in management, innovation, and marketing skills To support the establishment and growth of startups as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) To build partnerships with community organizations and the private sector to support entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial initiatives To organize entrepreneurial events and competitions that encourage innovation, creativity, and a spirit of healthy competition To contribute to achieving sustainable economic and social development 1. Achieving the ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex civil engineering problems using the principles of engineering, science, and mathematics. 2. Applying engineering design principles to produce practical solutions that meet community needs, while considering health, safety, environmental, sustainability, and economic factors. 3. Communicating effectively, both in writing and orally, within engineering and professional contexts and with various relevant stakeholders. 4-Understanding ethical and professional responsibilities, adhering to engineering laws and standards, and making sound engineering decisions. 5. Working effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams and assuming individual and collective responsibilities. 6. Developing and conducting engineering experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, and applying engineering judgment in evaluation and decision-making. 7. Acquiring new knowledge and engaging in continuous learning to keep pace with scientific and technological advancements in the field of civil engineering.
