Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a new academic and scientific milestone with its first-ever appearance in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027 (THE WUR 2027), one of the world’s leading university rankings. The University was placed in the 1201–1400 global band, reflecting its continued progress in academic and research performance and strengthening its presence on the international higher education landscape. Among 2,297 universities from 118 countries and territories, Al-Mustaqbal University ranked second among Iraqi universities outside the Kurdistan Region, fourth when universities in the Region are included, and first among Iraqi private universities—marking an important milestone in its journey towards greater global recognition. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings assess universities through a comprehensive set of international indicators covering key areas including teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international outlook, providing a broad framework for evaluating academic and research performance worldwide. Across the ranking indicators, Al-Mustaqbal University achieved second place in Iraq for international outlook, fifth for research environment, and sixth for research quality, highlighting the growth of its research activity, expanding international academic partnerships, and strengthening educational and research environment. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, congratulated the University’s faculty members, staff, and students on this achievement, expressing his appreciation and pride in the sustained efforts of the University’s academic, administrative, and research teams that contributed to this international recognition. The President also commended the valuable contributions of faculty members, researchers, staff, and students, emphasizing that this achievement is the result of integrated academic, research, and administrative efforts, investment in educational quality, support for scientific research and international publication, and the expansion of global academic partnerships and collaboration.
