Al-Mustaqbal University expanded its international academic partnerships through the participation of its President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, as part of a high-level Iraqi ministerial delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahd. The delegation conducted a scientific tour in the Arab Republic of Egypt in 2026, aiming to support scientific research, promote international openness, and improve the ranking of Iraqi universities globally The visit included official meetings at several key academic institutions, including Al-Azhar University, Mansoura University, the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education, as well as the regional office of Elsevier and Intlaq Digital Transformation Company. During these meetings, the delegation discussed ways to enhance academic cooperation, activate joint agreements, and develop twinning programs The tour also focused on evaluating and following up on joint postgraduate programs, most notably the Master’s program in Law between Al-Mustaqbal University and Mansoura University, which represents a successful model of academic integration. Discussions also addressed mutual recognition mechanisms and facilitating procedures for researchers in both countries During the visit, the delegation reviewed the latest practices in scientific publishing using artificial intelligence technologies, in addition to exploring advanced experiences in digital transformation within universities, contributing to the development of the educational environment and strengthening the presence of Iraqi researchers in global scientific platforms The tour covered more than four major academic institutions, reflecting a clear strategic direction toward enhancing international cooperation and building an integrated educational system based on knowledge and experience exchange between Iraq and Egypt, as part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s efforts toward sustainable academic openness
