Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Fine Arts, and in collaboration with the Women’s Committee and students of the college, organized an awareness campaign entitled “Life Without Drugs” on Sunday, April 12, 2026. The campaign aimed to enhance community awareness of the importance of preventing drug abuse and addressing its negative impacts on individuals and society. It also sought to present practical perspectives and strategies that contribute to reducing the spread of this phenomenon, while emphasizing the active role of women in promoting awareness, prevention, and building a healthy and safe society. In addition, the campaign encouraged community participation in efforts to combat drugs, thereby supporting stability and contributing to a sustainable future. This initiative aligns with the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security, particularly the pillar of prevention and protection, and supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. It contributes to Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by reducing addiction and related health issues and promoting both mental and physical health. It also supports Goal 4 (Quality Education) by disseminating awareness and knowledge among students and society regarding the dangers of drugs and methods of prevention. Furthermore, the campaign contributes to Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by reducing drug-related crime and promoting safe and stable communities, as well as Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by minimizing social problems resulting from substance abuse and fostering healthier and safer local environments. The event also emphasized that sustainability is not limited to environmental aspects but extends to human and societal sustainability through building health awareness and positive behavior that contribute to comprehensive sustainable development.
