Inauguration of a INTILAQ competition at the ALMUSTAQBAL University College

Target Group: Students Objective: Training students of Al-Mustaqbal University College about the principles of entrepreneurship and make them participate in INTLAQ competition Date: 3-4/3/2022 The workshop sessions have focused on Entrepreneurship and how it can be applied in the market as well as encouraging them to start their small and medium projects. Through these steps, the new entrepreneurs can be assured about their project s future. The workshop lasted for two days (Thursday & Friday) in the halls of Al-Mustaqbal University College. In addition, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, Dean of Al-Mustaqbal University College, has confirmed the long-term plan which supports the important workshop, especially the one that revolves around Entrepreneurship. Furthermore, Mrs. Rusul Sattar Bader, Director of Rehabilitation, Employment & Follow-Up Unit has stated that the second goal of these workshops is to achieve SDGs (No.4: Quality Education), (No.9: industry, innovation and infrastructure) and (No.8: decent work and economic growth). Finally, the workshop has aimed to support creative ideas and help to market them for the purpose of gaining funds from 10000 to 15000. At the end of the competition, Al-Mustaqbal University College has been chosen among 5 private colleges to contest with 15 public universities

First International Fair for Girls in the Field of Information & Communication Technology

Targeted Group: Students of IT & Communication Engineering Department, Graduates, Students of Babylon Vocational High School, Private & Public Sectors’ Companies, Scientific Institutions Objective of the International Day for Girls in the Field of Information & Communication Technology It aims to increase representation of girls and women in the field technology, and creating gender equity when approaching the fields of Sciences & Technology. It is considerable to note that Al-Mustaqbal University College has organized a conference with the participation of Babylon Vocational High School for Girls, Al-Nusoor Primary School, Al-Mas Company, Aswar Company, the Representative of the Industrialists, and many pioneering companies. The conference has included a seminar on “Information Technology at the Present Era” with the participation of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Skiki, representative of the Vocational Guidance & Development Association, and Prof. Dr. Sattar Badr Sadkhan, representative of IEEE Organization. There have been also workshops dealing with the increase of businesses and Information Technology, in addition to girls’ projects at the Computer Engineering Department. It is quite obvious that all these activities do lead to achievement of Sustainable Development Goals

Participation in INTILAQ in Erbil

The academic Ms. Rusul Sattar participated in the workshop which was held in Erbil. The workshop was organized by the German association GIZ and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on 9-11/2/2022. The objective of the workshop was to train managers of divisions and units of rehabilitation, employment as well as monitoring in private and public universities and colleges to be efficient in training students at their universities

Our Graduates Are Our Pride

Success of projects mainly depends on hiring the appropriate and skilled people suitably on time and at the right position. Indeed, such permanent process is a serious challenge, which business owners have to face all the time in order to achieve the required targets. Accordingly, we are obliged to state here that Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, Dean of Al-Mustaqbal University College has had the opportunity to meet the College Graduates of all Academic Departments who have been employed in our College. It is remarkable to note that these graduates are now more than one hundred employees, working in the different departments and units of the College. This initiative, however, goes in line with the achievement of the United Nation’s SDGs 4 & 17. Finally, we should keep in mind that a University Degree provides its holder with good job opportunities.

Graduate recruitment activities conclude

In the closing ceremony, speeches were given by engineer Muhammad Zuqam Head of Babylon Investment Authority who talked about the constant growth that labor market is witnessing, emphasizing meanwhile that a special platform shall be established for Al-Mustaqbal graduates so as to be contained by the investing companies in the future. Engineer Muhammad Al-Maamouri has given a speech as well referring to the possibility of establishing small projects in the field of industry, and loans shall be given to graduates to build up their own projects, in addition to the availability of training courses in Italy, Germany, China and other countries. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Sattar Badr Sadkhan, Head of IEEE has introduced the Establishment logo, which says, “The student is the future”. confirming its role in nurturing students projects and transferring them into international enterprises where students could compete and gain scholarships. At the end of the closing ceremony, Shields & Letters of Appreciation have been distributed by the Dean of Al-Mustaqbal University College, in addition to distributing job vacancies and gifts to the distinguished individuals

First UOMUS Fair for Graduates Recruitment

Due to the ongoing growth and prosperity in the field of business, the need for more professional personnel has been increasing. Indeed, companies and different types of enterprises face nowadays great challenges in finding and employing such personnel. Accordingly, career fairs are considered as a familiar method where recruiters and employers could announce for their vacancies and meet potential employees. The initiative as recommended in 2021 by Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, Dean of Al-Mustaqbal University College has finally turned into a reality with the launching of “First Future Recruitment Exhibit” for 2022, where employers and human resources managers as well as those who are in charge of recruitment could meet and communicate with a large number of graduates, and thus plausible opportunities are created for hiring the best candidates. During these exhibits, Companies representatives attempt to give good impression to future potential colleagues while communicating with them, examining their CVs and raising feasible inquiries. These principles indeed have led to organizing the “First Career Fair” inside the campus of Al-Mustaqbal University College. The Fair, however, has created opportunities for job seekers to market themselves and compete for the exhibited positions, displaying all what they own of skills, experiences and capabilities. The First Career Fair was inaugurated at Al-Mustaqbal University College on Wednesday 19th January 2022, at 09:30 a.m. lasting for three days with the participation and attendance of 40 companies of both private and mixed sectors, including educational institutions. Besides, the College students have played an effective role in the Fair by exhibiting their projects. It is remarkable to note that the Fair has been attended by Mr. Hasan Mandeel, Governor of Babylon, the Parliament Member Mr. Ameer Al-Maamouri, in addition to the representatives of Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research – Department of Research & Planning with the participation of Chamber of Commerce in Babylon, Union of Engineers, Union of Industrialists, a number of Private Sector Companies, Private Banks, Exchange Companies, Tele-Communication, and Drug Stores. A Welcome Speech has been given by Prof. Dr. Mijbil Marjan, Head of the Preparatory Committee, in which he talked about the importance of business incubators in solving career problems. For his part, MOHE representative, Mr. Hussein Nasir expressed his thanks to Al-Mustaqbal University College for organizing the Exhibit, confirming that Recruitment Fairs in fact represent an opportunity for institutions, graduates and companies to select the best candidates. There were also speeches given by the Governor of Babylon, The Parliament Member Mr. Ameer Al-Maamouri, Mr. Sadiq Al-Maamouri, Head of the Chamber of Commerce, the Investor of BDC Mall Project, Mr. Saleem Al-Rubaie, and they all expressed their admiration of Al-Mustaqbal University College and its constant communication with the local community, in addition to organizing this great event, which articulates a distinguished future vision to find essential solutions for the graduates issue. The Dean of Al-Mustaqbal University College, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi has clarified that the College Deanship has launched a long-term plan, emphasizing that the current exhibit shall provide more than 75 vacancies for the graduates of previous years. The long term plan of the College includes as well a strategy to promote the learning process so that students could acquire higher levels of skills and productivity. Some educational institutions have declared that they shall organize training courses and workshops for graduates, while others are ready to arrange summer training courses for final year students in their companies. Ms. Rusul Sattar, Head of Recruitment Unit has confirmed that this exhibit is considered as the first pioneer platform of 2022 in the field of recruitment, with the aim of supporting the Government trends to increase hiring graduates in the Private Sector by meeting the qualifying skills required by Human Resources of the related institutions
