Al-Mustaqbal University Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University: An Academic Partnership Toward Integration and Innovation

In a step reflecting a strategic vision to expand academic cooperation and strengthen integration between public and private universities, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Hassan Shakir Majdi, signed a joint scientific Memorandum of Understanding with Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the University’s vision for institutional academic openness. The MoU was signed during an official visit by a delegation from Al-Mustaqbal University headed by Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and including the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, the Dean of the College of Administrative Sciences, Prof. Dr. Haider Al-Dulaimi, along with representatives of the University’s Cultural Relations Office. The delegation was received by the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Hassan Latif, the Vice Presidents, and a number of academic leaders. Discussions focused on enhancing academic and research cooperation, coordinating areas of mutual interest, and exploring the launch of pioneering projects that embody the concept of the “productive university” through science and technology parks and technological incubators. The Memorandum of Understanding includes several key areas, notably joint scientific research, participation in conferences, seminars, and workshops, exchange of academic visits, joint supervision of postgraduate students, benefiting from successful experiences in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, faculty capacity building, summer training for students, and curriculum development—contributing to the advancement of higher education quality and the achievement of sustainable scientific and developmental impact.

Al-Mustaqbal University Achieves a Landmark Milestone with the Launch of Iraq’s First Joint Master’s Programs in Law

In a pioneering step at the level of Iraqi higher education, Al-Mustaqbal University has announced the launch of two joint Master’s programs in Law in partnership with Mansoura University, Arab Republic of Egypt. The newly introduced programs—Master of Public International Law and Master of Administrative Law—represent the first initiative of their kind among Iraqi universities. This milestone follows a series of reciprocal visits and strategic meetings that culminated in the signing of a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding, strengthening academic and research collaboration between the two institutions. On this occasion, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Hassan Shakir Majdi, received a high-level delegation from Mansoura University, including Prof. Waleed Al-Shenawy, Dean of the Faculty of Law, and Prof. Ibrahim Abdullah Abdulraouf, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research. He praised the depth of cooperation and emphasized the significance of this step in advancing legal education in Iraq. During the launch ceremony, a speech on behalf of the University Presidency was delivered by Prof. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision. Prof. Ammar Al-Husseini, Dean of the College of Law at Al-Mustaqbal University, also addressed the audience, followed by remarks from Prof. Waleed Al-Shenawy representing the Egyptian delegation. Speakers underscored that this joint initiative marks a major step toward the internationalization of higher education in Iraq and reflects a shared commitment to delivering high-quality legal education in line with international standards. Through this distinguished partnership, Al-Mustaqbal University continues to strengthen its position as a forward-looking institution dedicated to academic excellence, strategic international collaboration, and the preparation of highly qualified legal professionals capable of making meaningful impact at both national and global levels.

The discussions focused on training, academic quality, institutional excellence, and innovation, and concluded with signing a joint cooperation minutes, signed on behalf of Al-Mustaqbal University by Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, and by Dr. Eng. Hussein Al-Gartani, Director General of the Center.

Al-Mustaqbal University Strengthens National Partnerships by Signing Scientific and Cultural Cooperation Agreements on the Sidelines of EURAS Academy 2026

In a strategic step reflecting its commitment to expanding academic cooperation and enhancing integration among Iraqi universities, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi, signed a series of scientific and cultural cooperation agreements with a number of distinguished Iraqi universities, including the University of Mosul, Al-Mustansiriyah University, Northern Technical University, Southern Technical University, and Al-Nisour University, on the sidelines of the EURAS Academy 2026 Forum. The agreements were signed with Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul; Professor Dr. Safaa Taqi Al-Issawi, President of Al-Mustansiriyah University; Professor Dr. Aliyah Al-Attar, President of Northern Technical University; Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq, President of Southern Technical University; and Professor Dr. Abdul Jawad Al-Amiri, President of Al-Nisour University. These agreements were concluded during the forum organized by Al-Mustaqbal University in partnership with the European–Asian Universities Union (EURASIA), which represents the first global scientific and academic event of its kind held at the level of Iraqi universities, serving as an international academic platform for the exchange of expertise and the establishment of institutional partnerships between local and international universities. The signed cooperation agreements cover a range of areas of mutual interest, most notably joint scientific research projects, exchange of faculty members, joint supervision of postgraduate students, as well as the organization of scientific conferences and specialized workshops, cooperation in international rankings, quality assurance and academic accreditation systems, in addition to joint student activities. Al-Mustaqbal University affirmed that these agreements represent an advanced step toward strengthening effective national partnerships and enhancing the standing of Iraqi universities in regional and international academic forums, in line with its vision to improve the quality of higher education, support scientific research, and achieve sustainable development in the academic sector.

AL-Mustaqbal University Signs an International Memorandum of Cooperation with Istanbul Aydin University on the Sidelines of EURAS Academy 2026

As part of its ongoing efforts toward internationalization, AL-Mustaqbal University organized the EURAS Academy 2026 International Forum in cooperation with the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) on Thursday morning, 29 January 2026, at the university campus. The forum was attended by the President of EURAS, representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as a distinguished group of university presidents and representatives of various ministries. The forum served as a prominent international academic platform for dialogue and the exchange of expertise, reaffirming the advanced position held by AL-Mustaqbal University at both the regional and international levels. Notably, it marked the first international forum of its kind to be hosted by an Iraqi university, bringing together leading academics, experts, and decision-makers. On the sidelines of the forum, and as a strategic step aimed at activating its outcomes and recommendations, a Memorandum of Scientific Cooperation was signed between AL-Mustaqbal University, represented by its President Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and Istanbul Aydin University, represented by its President Professor Dr. Mustafa Aydin, who also serves as President of the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS), an organization that includes more than 150 universities across Europe and Asia. The memorandum outlines several key areas of cooperation, most notably enhancing academic mobility for faculty members and students, developing joint scientific research, and updating academic curricula. It also emphasizes the exchange of expertise in the fields of technological innovation, university governance, and education diplomacy, contributing to strengthening university–community engagement and reinforcing the role of universities in sustainable development.

Al-Mustaqbal University Launches EURAS Academy 2026 with Broad International Participation

Under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in partnership with the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS), Al-Mustaqbal University hosted the opening of the EURAS Academy 2026 Forum, an international scientific event held for the first time in Iraq, with wide participation from higher education leaders and academics from Iraq and abroad. The opening ceremony was attended by the Representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs Prof. Dr. Adnan Al-Jumaili, the President of EURAS and President of Istanbul Aydın University Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydin, and the President of Al-Mustaqbal University Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, along with a large number of Iraqi university presidents, vice presidents, deans, professors, and researchers. The forum commenced with a speech delivered on behalf of the University President by the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, who emphasized that hosting this international forum reflects the university’s advanced academic standing and its leading role in promoting scientific dialogue, international openness, and strategic partnerships. He noted that the forum is held amid rapid global transformations in higher education, particularly in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, quality assurance, and sustainability, which call for rethinking educational models and building next-generation universities. In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydin expressed his appreciation to Al-Mustaqbal University for hosting the forum, stressing that EURAS Academy serves as an effective platform for strengthening academic cooperation and building bridges between universities in Iraq, Turkey, Europe, and Asia. Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Adnan Al-Jumaili highlighted the importance of international partnerships in advancing higher education and enhancing educational quality through global best practices. The forum is held under the theme “Quality, Sustainability, and Global Partnerships: Transforming Higher Education in the Middle East and North Africa”, and includes dialogue sessions addressing governance, strategic leadership, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, internationalization, academic mobility, sustainability pathways, and green campus models. The opening also featured an artistic performance showcasing the civilization of Mesopotamia across the ages, reflecting Iraq’s rich cultural heritage and historical role in the advancement of human knowledge. In statements to the media, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi affirmed that hosting this forum underscores Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to strengthening cross-border academic partnerships and contributing to shaping the future of higher education in Iraq and the region.
