Strengthening Academic Collaboration Between Al-Mustaqbal University and the University of Petra

As part of its ongoing commitment to advancing academic relations and expanding international cooperation, Al-Mustaqbal University continues to activate the provisions of its cooperation agreement with the University of Petra in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This effort aims to enhance scientific research and support pathways toward academic excellence. This initiative was undertaken under the direction of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi. In this context, Professor Dr. Tariq Jawad Kadhim, Director of the Scientific Affairs Department, conducted an official visit to the University of Petra, during which he held a series of meetings with academic leaders at the Faculty of Engineering. The discussions focused on strengthening joint collaboration in scientific research, conducting laboratory testing within the framework of shared research projects, and advancing cooperation in areas related to academic accreditation, international certifications, and global rankings. Both parties also explored mechanisms to further develop and activate previously established activities under the agreement, while emphasizing the importance of organizing joint workshops and scientific conferences. These efforts are expected to contribute to the exchange of expertise and the enhancement of academic outcomes. This visit reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to reinforcing its regional and international presence, as well as advancing its educational and research programs through effective strategic partnerships.

Signing of an Academic Twinning Agreement Between the Department of Civil Engineering at Al-Mustaqbal University and Al-Qasim Green University

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen academic collaboration and expand the horizons of scientific partnership, the Department of Civil Engineering at the College of Engineering, Al-Mustaqbal University, has signed an academic twinning agreement with its counterpart at Al-Qasim Green University. This initiative aims to support the advancement of the educational process and enhance the quality of engineering education. The agreement encompasses several areas of academic and scientific cooperation, including the exchange of expertise among faculty members, the organization of joint seminars and workshops, and the promotion of collaborative research activities. It also focuses on the development and modernization of curricula in alignment with labor market demands and recent advancements in the field of civil engineering. This agreement aligns with the strategic vision of the College of Engineering at Al-Mustaqbal University to strengthen academic partnerships with Iraqi universities, thereby contributing to the development of an advanced educational environment based on knowledge exchange and scientific collaboration. It also supports the achievement of the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 4), which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education.

Al-Mustaqbal University Strengthens National Partnerships by Signing a Scientific and Academic Memorandum of Understanding with Al-Nahrain University

As part of its strategic direction to broaden scientific and academic cooperation and strengthen institutional partnerships, Al‑Mustaqbal University signed a joint Scientific and Academic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Al‑Nahrain University, in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the vision of the University Presidency to promote integration between public and private universities and the exchange of expertise. The MoU was signed during an official visit by a delegation from Al-Mustaqbal University, headed by the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and including the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, the Educational Advisor, Professor Dr. Mohsen Abdul Ali, and the Director of Cultural Relations, Dr. Samir Badrawi. The delegation was received by the President of Al-Nahrain University, Professor Dr. Ali Abdulaziz Al-Shawi, along with the Vice Presidents and a number of College Deans. The meeting featured an exchange of views on activating collaboration between corresponding colleges and research centers at both universities, aiming to enhance joint scientific research and strengthen the integration of academic programs . The MoU encompasses several key areas, including the implementation of joint scientific research, participation in conferences, seminars, and workshops, academic exchange visits, joint supervision of postgraduate students, faculty capacity building, summer training programs for students, and curriculum development—contributing to the enhancement of higher education quality and achieving a sustainable scientific and developmental impact.

As part of its strategic orientation toward expanding academic cooperation and strengthening integration between public and private universities, Al‑Mustaqbal University signed a joint scientific and academic Memorandum of Understanding with Al‑Qadisiyah University. The MoU was signed by the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Hassan Shaker Majdi, in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the university leadership’s vision for institutional openness and the exchange of expertise. The agreement was concluded during an official visit by a delegation from Al-Mustaqbal University, headed by the University President and including the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision Mudhaffar Sadiq Al‑Zuhairy, the Dean of the College of Science Furat Hamza, and the Director of the Cultural Relations Department Samir Badrawi. The delegation was received by the President of Al-Qadisiyah University Rahi Al‑Yasiri, along with the Vice Presidents and a number of academic leaders. The meeting discussed prospects for joint scientific and research cooperation and coordination in areas of mutual interest. The Memorandum of Understanding includes several key areas, most notably: conducting joint scientific research; participating in conferences, seminars, and workshops; exchanging academic visits; joint supervision of postgraduate students; benefiting from established experiences in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals; capacity building for academic staff; summer training for students; and updating curricula. These efforts aim to enhance the quality of higher education and achieve a sustainable scientific and developmental impact.

The MoU was signed during an official visit by a delegation from Al-Mustaqbal University headed by Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and including the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, the Dean of the College of Administrative Sciences, Prof. Dr. Haider Al-Dulaimi, along with representatives of the University’s Cultural Relations Office. The delegation was received by the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Hassan Latif, the Vice Presidents, and a number of academic leaders. Discussions focused on enhancing academic and research cooperation, coordinating areas of mutual interest, and exploring the launch of pioneering projects that embody the concept of the “productive university” through science and technology parks and technological incubators. Al-Mustaqbal University Achieves a Landmark Milestone with the Launch of Iraq’s First Joint Master’s Programs in Law

In a pioneering step at the level of Iraqi higher education, Al-Mustaqbal University has announced the launch of two joint Master’s programs in Law in partnership with Mansoura University, Arab Republic of Egypt. The newly introduced programs—Master of Public International Law and Master of Administrative Law—represent the first initiative of their kind among Iraqi universities. This milestone follows a series of reciprocal visits and strategic meetings that culminated in the signing of a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding, strengthening academic and research collaboration between the two institutions. On this occasion, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Hassan Shakir Majdi, received a high-level delegation from Mansoura University, including Prof. Waleed Al-Shenawy, Dean of the Faculty of Law, and Prof. Ibrahim Abdullah Abdulraouf, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research. He praised the depth of cooperation and emphasized the significance of this step in advancing legal education in Iraq. During the launch ceremony, a speech on behalf of the University Presidency was delivered by Prof. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision. Prof. Ammar Al-Husseini, Dean of the College of Law at Al-Mustaqbal University, also addressed the audience, followed by remarks from Prof. Waleed Al-Shenawy representing the Egyptian delegation. Speakers underscored that this joint initiative marks a major step toward the internationalization of higher education in Iraq and reflects a shared commitment to delivering high-quality legal education in line with international standards. Through this distinguished partnership, Al-Mustaqbal University continues to strengthen its position as a forward-looking institution dedicated to academic excellence, strategic international collaboration, and the preparation of highly qualified legal professionals capable of making meaningful impact at both national and global levels.

Al-Mustaqbal University Strengthens National Partnerships by Signing Scientific and Cultural Cooperation Agreements on the Sidelines of EURAS Academy 2026

In a strategic step reflecting its commitment to expanding academic cooperation and enhancing integration among Iraqi universities, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi, signed a series of scientific and cultural cooperation agreements with a number of distinguished Iraqi universities, including the University of Mosul, Al-Mustansiriyah University, Northern Technical University, Southern Technical University, and Al-Nisour University, on the sidelines of the EURAS Academy 2026 Forum. The agreements were signed with Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul; Professor Dr. Safaa Taqi Al-Issawi, President of Al-Mustansiriyah University; Professor Dr. Aliyah Al-Attar, President of Northern Technical University; Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq, President of Southern Technical University; and Professor Dr. Abdul Jawad Al-Amiri, President of Al-Nisour University. These agreements were concluded during the forum organized by Al-Mustaqbal University in partnership with the European–Asian Universities Union (EURASIA), which represents the first global scientific and academic event of its kind held at the level of Iraqi universities, serving as an international academic platform for the exchange of expertise and the establishment of institutional partnerships between local and international universities. The signed cooperation agreements cover a range of areas of mutual interest, most notably joint scientific research projects, exchange of faculty members, joint supervision of postgraduate students, as well as the organization of scientific conferences and specialized workshops, cooperation in international rankings, quality assurance and academic accreditation systems, in addition to joint student activities. Al-Mustaqbal University affirmed that these agreements represent an advanced step toward strengthening effective national partnerships and enhancing the standing of Iraqi universities in regional and international academic forums, in line with its vision to improve the quality of higher education, support scientific research, and achieve sustainable development in the academic sector.
