Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of AL-Mustaqbal University, visited Istanbul Aydin University (IAU) as part of an initiative to enhance academic collaboration and establish fruitful international partnerships. During the visit, Professor Majdi met with Professor Dr. Mustafa Aydin, President of the Eurasia Organization (EURAS), Chairman of Istanbul Aydin University, and President of the Board of Trustees. Professor Majdi received a warm welcome from Professor Aydin, who presented him with a commemorative shield representing Istanbul Aydin University, expressing his admiration for AL-Mustaqbal University’s reputation and standing. He also commended the university’s active role following its selection as a Board Member of the Eurasia Universities Union (EURAS), an organization comprising 150 universities from various countries worldwide, highlighting Future University’s prestigious position and leadership in higher education. During the visit, the university president also met with several prominent academic officials at Istanbul Aydin University, including Professor Dr. Ibrahim Hakki Aydin, University President; Professor Dr. Zafer Arslan, Vice President; and Assistant Professor Dr. Osman Kul Tekin, Deputy Director of International Academic Relations, along with other key administrators. A joint meeting was held to discuss several topics of mutual interest, including the activation of the cooperation agreement between the two institutions and the organization of summer training programs for students of the College of Medical Technologies in Istanbul, particularly in the fields of optometry, radiology, and anesthesia. Additionally, discussions were held regarding the organization of a joint conference with Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University focusing on medical technology, as well as encouraging student participation in the Erasmus international programs to enhance academic and cultural exchange opportunities. At the conclusion of the visit, Professor Majdi toured the Student Clubs Exhibition held in the university’s gardens, gaining insight into leading global experiences in this field. As part of an initiative to strengthen international collaboration and exchange academic expertise, Iraq’s AL_Mustaqbal University and the British University in Cairo have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance scientific and academic cooperation. This agreement aligns with the initiative to internationalize higher education in Iraq, previously announced by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. In this context, the President of AL_Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, led an official delegation to the British University in Cairo. The high-level academic delegation included Professor Dr. Mundhir Fadel Hassan, Administrative Assistant to the University President; Professor Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision; Dr. Walaa Louay Ali, Dean of the College of Medicine; Professor Abdulreda Shaker Majdi, Director of the University’s Administrative Affairs; and Dr. Mohammed Mahmoud Abdul Rahman, Assistant Dean of the College of Dentistry. The delegation was warmly received by Professor Dr. Mohammed Ismail, Advisor to the President of the British University in Cairo; Professor Dr. Tarek Abbas, Vice President for the Medical Group; Professor Dr. Mohie El-Mazar, Dean of the College of Pharmacy; and Professor Dr. Firdous Rizk, Dean of the College of Dentistry. Professor Dr. Mohammed Ismail, Advisor to the President of the British University, welcomed the visiting delegation and expressed his delight at the visit, highlighting the deep historical ties between Iraq and Egypt—two nations that witnessed the birth of the world’s earliest civilizations, the Nile Valley and Mesopotamia. He affirmed the British University’s full readiness to collaborate across all areas of mutual interest, in accordance with the legal frameworks of both countries. During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two institutions to expand cooperation in scientific research, academic program development, and cultural exchange for faculty members and students. The agreement also focuses on capacity building, organizing joint conferences, and fostering collaborative scientific and student activities. Under the generous patronage and blessed attendance of the President of AL-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdi, the university organized an important panel discussion on global rankings, during which it hosted the Regional Director of the QS Foundation for the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, Professor Rami Awad. The President of the University stated in a statement to the university's media that this initiative is part of the university's strategic vision to enhance its position in the global QS rankings, which are among the most prominent academic rankings that rely on academic reputation, the learning and teaching environment, research impact, and internationalization. He also mentioned that global rankings have become a key indicator used by governments, companies, and various sectors to assess the performance of universities and academic institutions. The session included a presentation on how to improve the university's performance according to QS criteria, in addition to analyzing the strengths and opportunities available to achieve higher rankings in international classifications. The session also witnessed fruitful interaction among the attendees, where ideas were exchanged regarding strategies to develop research and academic performance and enhance global competitiveness. As part of enhancing academic and research cooperation between AL_Mustaqbal University and the University of Babylon, and in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals—Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)—Assistant Professor Dr. Aqeel Hanzal Tarsh Al-Judhri, a faculty member and the scientific activities coordinator in the Department of Anesthesia Techniques at the College of Health and Medical Technologies, represented AL_Mustaqbal University as a lecturer in a specialized training workshop within the Ministerial Graduate Studies Research Skills Development Program titled "How to Submit Your Paper in a Peer-Reviewed Journal." The workshop was held at the College of Dentistry at the University of Babylon. The workshop, attended by a large number of PhD and Master's students from various colleges at the University of Babylon, covered practical methods for submitting research papers (Submission) to internationally indexed scientific journals. It also addressed the key requirements that must be met when submitting research papers to ensure increased acceptance chances. Notably, this was the second workshop delivered by Dr. Al-Judhri as part of the aforementioned program. As part of AL_Mustaqbal University’s commitment to establishing scientific and academic partnerships with prestigious global universities, particularly Arab universities, the President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdi, visited Helwan University in the Arab Republic of Egypt. He was welcomed by Dr. Sayed Kandil, President of Helwan University. Accompanying the President of Future University during the visit were Dr. Mudhaffar Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Dr. Mohammed Abdulrahman, Assistant Dean of the College of Pharmacy, and Dr. Riyad Malik, Professor at the College of Administrative Sciences. The meeting was attended by Dr. Hussam Rafai, Vice President of Helwan University for Education and Students Affairs, Dr. Emad Abu Al-Dahab, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Haitham Swelim, Director of the International Students Department at the university. He also pointed out that the history of the university’s faculties extends beyond the official establishment of the university in 1975, which adds to its distinguished academic and historical depth. For his part, the President of AL_Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, expressed his happiness with the visit to Helwan University, emphasizing that it is a distinguished academic institution both locally and internationally and serves as a model to be emulated in the development of the educational and research process. He expressed his aspiration to strengthen academic cooperation between the two universities for the benefit of both sides. He mentioned that AL_Mustaqbal University in Iraq comprises 14 colleges covering a wide range of medical, engineering, and humanities disciplines, in addition to two research centers for Artificial Intelligence and Renewable Energy. The university also hosts two international Master's programs and is involved in the first international partnership for graduate studies in Iraqi universities. He further added that the university is striving to expand its scientific and academic cooperation through partnerships with renowned universities such as Helwan University. During the meeting, discussions took place on possible areas of cooperation, which included graduate programs, joint research, faculty and student exchanges, joint supervision, scientific discussions, and collaborative research projects. The visiting delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Heba Farouk Salem, President of October 6 University of Technology, who emphasized the deep historical ties between Egypt and Iraq. He was received by the President of Mansoura University, Prof. Dr. Sherif Yousef Khattab. The visit aimed to sign a cooperation protocol between the two institutions, with the goal of supporting scientific and research collaboration. From the Egyptian side, the meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ateya El-Bayoumi, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Tarek Ghalosh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Manal Eid, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy. Dr. Khattab confirmed that the signing of this protocol with Future University aims to strengthen cooperative frameworks between the two universities in areas of mutual interest. On his part, the President of AL-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdi, expressed his happiness with the cooperation agreement with the prestigious Mansoura University, which occupies a prominent position among Egyptian universities. He explained that the protocol aims to solidify collaboration in research and academic fields. In another part of his speech, the President of AL-Mustaqbal University mentioned that it is one of Iraq’s leading multidisciplinary universities, having gained increasing recognition at both regional and global levels. The university has witnessed significant growth and now offers 45 academic programs across 14 faculties in fields such as medicine, engineering, administration, arts, and humanities. Additionally, the university hosts two master's degree programs in Electronic Systems Engineering and Clinical Anatomy in collaboration with the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in a unique partnership that is the first of its kind among Iraqi public and private universities. The university also excels in research activities and has received national institutional accreditation, becoming the first private university in Iraq to do so. It has also been awarded the Iraqi Science Day Award for Distinguished University for two consecutive years, granted by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The meeting included a documentary presentation showcasing the history of both universities. At the end of the signing ceremony, commemorative shields were exchanged between the two sides, and photographs were taken.
