Al-Mustaqbal University Participates in the Cybersecurity Conference Held During the 13th Edition of the Iraqi Security, Defense, and Military Industries Exhibition (IQDEX 2025)

Under the esteemed patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and with the distinguished presence of the College of Science, represented by its Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani, Head of the Cybersecurity Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Kazem Al-Ghurabi, and Head of the Artificial Intelligence Department, Dr. Ahmed Adnan, along with a large group of students from the Cybersecurity Department— Al-Mustaqbal University took part in the Cybersecurity Conference, held as part of the 13th edition of the Iraqi Security, Defense, and Military Industries Exhibition (IQDEX 2025). The event, sponsored directly by the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, was held on April 22, 2025, at the Baghdad International Fairgrounds, under the patronage of the Iraq Computer Emergency Response Team (Iraq-CERT). The conference addressed key challenges and emerging opportunities in the field of cybersecurity, showcasing the latest technologies and strategies for protecting critical digital infrastructure. A select group of international speakers and experts from leading global institutions and companies contributed to the rich discussions, making the conference a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange between academics and industry professionals. The exhibition also featured the participation of over 100 local and international companies specializing in security, defense, and advanced technologies. Throughout the conference, Al-Mustaqbal University’s delegation engaged with several major global and local cybersecurity firms, as well as official agencies responsible for cybersecurity in Iraq. These meetings opened new avenues for academic and technical collaboration in the near future.

AL-Mustaqbal University Celebrates World Intellectual Property Day and Launches Its Intellectual Property Policy Document

Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of AL-Mustaqbal University, the university celebrated World Intellectual Property Day with a distinguished academic event. The ceremony was attended by representatives from ministries, public and private sector institutions, and a wide selection of inventors and innovators — with over forty prominent figures — in addition to a gathering of the university’s professors and researchers. The celebration commenced with an opening speech delivered by Professor Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, on behalf of the university presidency. In his address, Dr. Al-Zuheiri welcomed the attendees and emphasized that the protection of intellectual property has become a cornerstone in safeguarding the rights of researchers and institutions, supporting sustainable development, and building a strong knowledge-based economy. During his speech, Dr. Al- Zuhairy, announced the launch of the “AL-Mustaqbal University Intellectual Property Policy Document,” a pioneering step among Iraqi universities aimed at fostering an environment that nurtures creativity and innovation while protecting the rights of the university’s students, researchers, and faculty members. The event featured several notable activities, including a documentary film highlighting AL-Mustaqbal University’s journey and achievements, and an in-depth presentation of the newly launched Intellectual Property Policy, delivered by Dr. Samir Ibrahim Badrawi, Director of Cultural Relations at the university presidency. Additionally, the program included a presentation from the Ministry of Agriculture, delivered by Professor Dr. Mahdi Dhafir Al-Qaisi, Advisor to the Ministry and representative of the National Committee for the Registration, Protection, and Accreditation of Agricultural Varieties. Another key contribution came from the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, with Mr. Ahmed Magdy Khalil, Director of the Administration Department at the Directorate of Trademark and Geographical Data Registration, presenting a dedicated working paper. The Iraqi Association of Inventors and Innovators also played an active role in the event, represented by the Association’s President, Consulting Engineer Ms. Theresa Jassim Reda, who presented a working paper showcasing the association’s major activities. The ceremony concluded with the reading of recommendations, the distribution of certificates of appreciation to participants and supporters, and the opening of a special exhibition and bazaar dedicated to intellectual property, where models of patents and innovative projects were showcased. It is worth noting that throughout the celebration, AL-Mustaqbal University reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, and to encouraging students and researchers to produce knowledge that serves both society and the national economy.

Scientific and Academic Cooperation Agreement Signed Between the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University and the Technical Engineering College – Mosul

As part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen academic collaboration and expand scientific partnerships with educational institutions both within Iraq and abroad, a cooperation agreement was signed between the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University and the Technical Engineering College – Mosul, a constituent college of the Northern Technical University. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Professor Dr. Aliaa Al-Attar, President of Northern Technical University, on the sidelines of the 3rd International Conference on Renewable Energy, held in Sulaymaniyah from April 20–21, 2025. The conference brought together a distinguished group of academics and researchers from various Iraqi universities. The agreement aims to promote collaboration in teaching and scientific research, facilitate the exchange of academic expertise, organize joint academic events, and develop curricula to enhance the quality of educational outcomes and advance the academic and research capabilities of both institutions. The agreement was signed on behalf of Al-Mustaqbal University by Professor Dr. Qusay Rasheed Abdul Ameer, representing the Dean of the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, and on behalf of the Technical Engineering College – Mosul by Professor Dr. Majid Khalil Najm, Dean of the College. The Al-Mustaqbal University delegation attending the signing included Professor Dr. Sulwan Ubaid Waheed and Dr. Mujtaba Abdul-Kadhim Faleh. Both sides emphasized the importance of sustained scientific cooperation and knowledge exchange in advancing higher education in Iraq. This agreement underscores Al-Mustaqbal University’s strategic commitment to engaging with distinguished academic experiences and expanding its network of effective partnerships locally and internationally, in support of scientific research and the competitiveness of Iraqi educational institutions.

AL-Mustaqbal Week 2025 Concludes with Outstanding Achievements at Al-Mustaqbal University’s 3rd International Sustainability Festival

Al-Mustaqbal University has successfully concluded the events of its 3rd International Sustainability Festival, which spanned an entire week and culminated in a remarkable closing day filled with impactful activities. The final day featured a tour by the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, of the Innovation and Sustainability Exhibitions. He expressed his deep appreciation for the participants and their impressive achievements. The exhibitions showcased cutting-edge innovations and scientific products in the field of sustainability. Dr. Majdi also reviewed research and applied projects presented by the university’s students and researchers, listening attentively to detailed explanations of their innovations and practical applications. In his closing remarks, the University President extended sincere thanks to all participants — academics, researchers, and students — commending their contributions to the success of this significant international event. He praised the outstanding scientific outputs displayed during the festival, affirming that these accomplishments reflect the university’s distinguished academic and research standards. Key Achievements of the Festival: 1. Presentation of over 300 innovative projects in renewable energy, waste management, archaeology, agriculture, artificial intelligence, and robotics. 2. Organization of three international conferences: • On SDG 4 (Quality Education), • On SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) – focusing on medical technologies, • And a joint conference addressing poverty alleviation in line with SDG 1 and SDG 2. 3. Hosting several forums and academic events, most notably: • The 4th Media Forum, • And the Biomedical Engineering Forum, with wide participation from international and local researchers. 4. Conducting a series of specialized workshops and seminars. 5. Signing cooperation agreements with international institutions and universities under SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). 6. Organizing equestrian shows and visits to natural reserves, reflecting environmental awareness and commitment to SDG 13 (Climate Action). 7. Launching legal, social, and governance tents and exhibitions to support SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). 8. Providing medical tents for free treatment and community support, aligned with SDG 3. 9. Holding bazaars and service-oriented activities promoting decent work (SDG 8), innovation (SDG 9), and reduced inequalities (SDG 10). Final Recommendations: • Strengthen research cooperation between the university and industrial sectors. • Adopt and support promising student and faculty projects. • Continue organizing similar festivals on a regular basis. • Broaden international participation in future editions. AL-Mustaqbal University Welcomes the First International Delegation Participating in the 2025 International AL-Mustaqbal Sustainability Week Festival

In a warm and intellectually engaging atmosphere, AL-Mustaqbal University welcomed its first international delegation this morning to participate in the third edition of the International AL-Mustaqbal Sustainability Week Festival, which will officially begin tomorrow, Wednesday, April 16, 2025, and continue through April 24. The university president, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, received the delegation from Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University in Turkey. The delegation included the university’s president, Prof. Dr. Kenan Ahmet, his assistant Prof. Dr. Mehmet KILIC, the Head of the Department of Energy Management and Sustainability, Ms. Leyla AKBULUT, and Prof. Dr. Atilgan. The reception was also attended by several academic and administrative leaders from the university. The visit began with a campus tour that covered lecture halls, specialized laboratories, and student service facilities. The delegation was introduced to the university’s advanced infrastructure and stimulating learning environment designed to support both students and faculty, in alignment with modern trends in higher education. During the visit, a joint discussion session was held, during which Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi expressed the university’s desire to activate the Memorandum of Understanding previously signed with Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University and to expand cooperation across various fields—especially in sustainability, scientific research, and academic exchange. In addition, Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the university’s academic structure, highlighting its most notable achievements, pioneering programs aimed at advancing sustainable development goals, and proposals for deepening collaboration between the two universities. The Third Edition of the International AL-Mustaqbal Sustainability Week Kicks Off at AL-Mustaqbal University, Alongside the Opening of the First International Conference on Modern Technologies and Their Applications in Sustainable Education

Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under the supervision of the President of AL-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, the third edition of the International AL-Mustaqbal Sustainability Week 2025 was officially launched this morning at Future University. The opening ceremony was held in the presence of a large number of distinguished local and international academic and official figures. The first day of the festival featured the inauguration of the First International Conference on Modern Technologies and Their Applications in Sustainable Education, in addition to the opening of several scientific exhibitions. These exhibitions showcased promising initiatives by students, researchers, faculty members, and academic departments, all aimed at supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event was attended by several prominent guests, including the representative of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, President of the University of Babylon, Prof. Dr. Ameen Al-Yasiri; the Governor of Babylon, Mr. Adnan Fayhan Al-Dulaimi; the Head of Babylon Provincial Council, Mr. Asaad Al-Muslawi; and the President of Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University in Turkey, Prof. Dr. Kenan Ahmet. The second session explored the role of universities in achieving SDG 4: Quality Education, and included contributions from Prof. Dr. Faten Al-Qazzaz, Scientific Assistant to the President of Al-Mustansiriya University; Ms. Nahida Ahmed Abduljabbar, Human Development Expert; and directors of the Education Policy Department at the Ministry of Planning. The session was moderated by Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, who also presented success stories and initiatives led by Future University in support of SDG 4. On Saturday, April 19, 2025, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of AL-Mustaqbal University, welcomed the distinguished guests of the festival’s third day, which featured the presence of several notable figures, including: • Prof. Dr. Adnan Al-Jumaili (Deputy Minister of Higher Education for Administrative Affairs) • Prof. Dr. Ali Maseer (President of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate) • Dr. Fadel Al-Badran (Deputy Minister of Culture) • Prof. Dr. Mithaq Al-Jubouri (Assistant for Administrative Affairs at the University of Babylon) • Dr. Saad Maan (Media Advisor at the Ministry of Interior) • Mr. Thaer Al-Jubouri (Head of the Teachers Syndicate – Babylon Branch) • Dr. Mushtaq Talib (Representative of Academics in Babylon) along with the delegation from Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University in Turkey. The guests toured the university’s nature reserve, which is home to a variety of animals and purebred horses, reflecting the university’s commitment to SDG 15: Life on Land through efforts to protect biodiversity and support terrestrial ecosystems. A Folkloric Fashion Show Celebrating Iraq’s Rich Heritage Highlights the Opening of the Third Edition of AL-Mustaqbal Sustainability Week

As part of the vibrant cultural program marking the opening of the 3rd International AL-Mustaqbal Sustainability Week 2025, AL-Mustaqbal University hosted a spectacular folkloric fashion show presented by the Iraqi Fashion House. The show featured traditional Iraqi attire spanning various historical periods—from ancient civilizations to the modern era—showcasing the country’s deep cultural heritage and artistic legacy. The fashion show was held on the sidelines of the festival’s opening ceremony, which is organized under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under the direct supervision of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Future University. The festival runs from April 16 to 24 and has drawn a wide audience from across Iraq and beyond, including officials, academics, and cultural figures. The performance brought to life vivid scenes of Iraqi identity through a dynamic display of traditional garments that reflected key historical stages.
