Assistant Professor Dr. Abbas Fadel Rasan Al-Tamimi, a faculty member in the Department of Finance and Banking at the College of Administrative Sciences, participated in the discussion of a master’s thesis at the College of Administration and Economics / University of Karbala, entitled "Financial Safety and Its Impact on Financial Well-being: A Study of a Sample of Iraqi Banks for the Period 2015–2025." The thesis examined the independent variable represented by profitability indicators for five Iraqi commercial banks. The results showed that these banks achieved high levels of non-interest income, mainly due to their participation in the currency auction and their gains from the difference between the fixed official exchange rate and the auction rate. This, in turn, benefits the banks without directly benefiting the state. The study also revealed high indicators of financial safety; however, these were not the result of traditional banking activities or actual services provided to individuals. This led to a high level of financial well-being for the banks due to the strength of their revenues, which was considered the dependent variable. The thesis aimed to highlight the reality of the banking sector and analyze the nature of the generated revenues, contributing to identifying areas of imbalance. It also presented a set of conclusions and recommendations that require attention from the concerned authorities. This participation comes within the framework of strengthening the academic presence of the faculty members of the Department of Finance and Banking and supporting scientific research efforts in a way that contributes to the development of the banking and economic sector.
