Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a new academic milestone that reflects its continuous development and growing presence in the global higher education landscape, securing the first place among Iraqi private universities and the third position among Iraqi universities in the U.S. News & World Report – Best Global Universities Ranking 2026-2027, one of the most prestigious international rankings for evaluating academic and research performance. The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majid, announced this achievement, emphasizing that it represents the outcome of the university’s continuous efforts in supporting scientific research, enhancing the quality of education, and developing its academic environment in accordance with international standards. The ranking results included several Iraqi universities in its current edition. The University of Sulaymaniyah ranked first nationally, followed by the University of Baghdad, while Al-Mustaqbal University achieved third place among Iraqi universities, becoming the top-ranked private university in Iraq included in the ranking. At the Asian level, the university achieved the 568th position, in addition to recording outstanding rankings in several scientific fields. It ranked 771st globally in Chemistry, 666th in Engineering, 696th in Materials Science, and 632nd globally in Physical Chemistry. The U.S. News & World Report ranking relies on a set of precise academic and research indicators, including research reputation, quality of scientific output, research impact, citation rates, international collaboration, and excellence across various academic disciplines, based on data from global specialized databases.
