On Sunday, May 10, 2026, Al-Mustaqbal University discussed mechanisms for enhancing institutional performance, promoting innovation, and transitioning toward the model of a productive university during a meeting chaired by the President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, in the presence of the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, directors of research centers, the Continuing Education Center, and the Department of Science and Technology Parks. During the meeting, the University President emphasized the importance of strengthening integration between research centers and university colleges in order to develop the academic environment and transform research ideas into practical projects that serve society and support the knowledge economy. He noted that the coming phase requires focusing on innovation and partnerships with both public and private sectors to launch qualitative initiatives capable of addressing contemporary challenges. He also stressed the need to support entrepreneurial projects and benefit from modern technologies and artificial intelligence in advancing education and scientific research, in addition to preparing specialized training programs that contribute to building the capacities of students and researchers and enhancing their skills in line with labor market requirements. The meeting included presentations on scientific and community activities carried out by the research centers during the previous period, as well as discussions of future plans aimed at expanding scientific cooperation and strengthening the university’s role in community service and sustainable development. For his part, Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi highlighted the importance of teamwork and knowledge exchange among various disciplines, explaining that interdisciplinary integration, artificial intelligence applications, and energy fields represent essential pillars for the future of education and scientific research. These efforts align with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals, as Al-Mustaqbal University, the leading private university in Iraq, continues to strengthen its academic and research standing locally and internationally.
