College of Health and Medical Technologies organizes an awareness event on the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day

The College of Health and Medical Technologies organized a scientific and humanitarian event on the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day, under the theme “Together, We Understand Autism,” with the participation of the Center of Specialist Sura Haroun Rashid and a number of its children. The event included the reception of the center’s children and the organization of a series of recreational and interactive activities that contributed to enhancing their social inclusion and bringing joy to their hearts. It also featured a scientific lecture that addressed Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), focusing on early diagnosis mechanisms and key rehabilitation approaches, while emphasizing the role of families and the wider community in supporting this group. For her part, the Dean of the College, Dr. Zahraa Halim Al-Qayyim, highlighted the importance of such initiatives in promoting health awareness, reinforcing the values of social responsibility, and supporting individuals with special needs. The event concluded with honoring Specialist Sura Haroun and the center’s administration in appreciation of their efforts in caring for children and enhancing community awareness.

Al-Mustaqbal University in Cooperation with Tammuz Organization for Social Development Holds a Wheelchair Basketball Match

The Department of Student Activities and the Division of Citizens’ Affairs (Unit of People with Special Needs) at the University of Al-Mustaqbal, in cooperation with Tammuz Organization for Social Development and with the participation of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, organized a wheelchair basketball match featuring players from the Iraqi National Paralympic Team in Babil Governorate.

Al-Mustaqbal University Signs a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Commission for People with Disabilities and Special Needs in Babil

Al-Mustaqbal University, guided by its humanitarian and societal responsibilities and under the supervision and direction of its president, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Commission for People with Disabilities and Special Needs in Babil Province on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. This agreement comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation and partnership between academic institutions and government bodies. The MoU aims to enhance academic and social collaboration through the development of joint programs and initiatives that support and empower people with disabilities. The memorandum also provides a framework for the exchange of expertise and the implementation of activities that promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in society, enabling them to benefit from the educational and service opportunities offered by the university

The Fifth Annual Festival in Support of People of Determination

Al-Mustaqbal University launched its fifth annual festival in support of People of Determination, under the gracious patronage and guidance of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi. He was represented by Professor Dr. Munther Fadel Hassan, Assistant President for Administrative Affairs. The event was attended by a number of academic, official, and social figures. The Citizens Affairs Division and the Special Needs Unit at Al-Mustaqbal University also participated in the festival’s activities.

Al-Mustaqbal University participates in a training workshop with Tammuz Organization for Social Development

The Central Student Activities Department at Al-Mustaqbal University participated in a training workshop held within the Youth Leaders Program, organized by the Tammuz Organization for Social Development in partnership with an international organization, in Basra Governorate from May 7 to May 11, 2025. The university was represented in the workshop by Mr. Sajjad Razzaq Al-Hilali, an employee at the university's Special Needs and Disabilities Unit, who emphasized during his participation the importance of including persons with disabilities in leadership and decision-making programs, thereby enhancing their active role in society. For his part, Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Hassan Shaker Majdi, Director of the Student Activities Department, highlighted the university’s commitment to developing the skills of its staff and strengthening their community presence, in line with its vision to support youth potential and build a more inclusive and integrated society.

Al-Mustaqbal University participates in a conference on disability civic participation in Basra

Al-Mustaqbal University, represented by the Central Student Activities Department, participated in the First Conference organized by the Iraqi Disability Coalition, held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the Engineers’ Hall in the Basra Governorate, under the patronage of the Governor of Basra, with the aim of promoting the civic participation of persons with disabilities. This participation reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to supporting disability-related issues and strengthening its collaboration with local and international organizations concerned with human rights and comprehensive development.

Al-Mustaqbal University participates in “With Our Hands We Create” event supporting persons with disabilities in Baghdad

The Babylon Commission for Special Needs delegation was in an event organized by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs / Authority for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs, under the title “With Our Hands We Create.” The event was held on Al-Mutanabbi Street in central Baghdad, aiming to support and empower the talents of persons with disabilities. The event witnessed wide appreciation for Al-Mustaqbal University’s participation and distinguished presence, reflecting the commitment of academic institutions to supporting this group and enhancing their role in society. This participation comes within Al-Mustaqbal University’s approach to supporting and empowering this group, contributing to the development of a more inclusive and integrated society.

Al-Mustaqbal University Organizes a Humanitarian Visit to Al-Amal Institute

The Scout Team at Al-Mustaqbal University, in cooperation with the Disability and Special Needs Unit of the Central Student Activities Department, organized a humanitarian visit to Al-Amal Institute, which included the distribution of gifts and toys to children with Down syndrome. The initiative aimed to bring joy and happiness to the children, contributing to putting smiles on their faces and creating a positive atmosphere within the institute, while also raising community awareness about the importance of supporting this group and addressing their needs. The visit reflected the spirit of social responsibility among university students and highlighted the importance of volunteer work in promoting the values of solidarity and positive engagement with persons with special needs. The activity aimed to spread happiness among the children and reinforce the concepts of inclusion and humanitarian support within society.
