On the occasion of Earth Day, which falls on April 22nd of each year, as part of the activities organized by AL-MUSTAQBAL University on this day, the Sustainable Development Department implemented a tree planting event on the campus. This initiative stems from Future University s commitment to the environmental aspect of sustainable development and embodies its motto ( AL-MUSTAQBAL University... Towards a Sustainable University") by implementing activities and events that support the achievement of sustainable development goals and promote a spirit of volunteerism in supporting and encouraging university initiatives, and elevating the concepts of voluntary work. The initiative included planting shade-tolerant evergreen plants with specifications capable of withstanding high temperatures and drought due to the climate changes facing the world, including our country, Iraq. The initiative was participated in by members of the Sustainable Development Department, as these trees play a role in reducing carbon footprint and mitigating the temperature for providing a sustainable academic environment that serves the students and members of the university community. Mr. Khaled Kazem Al-Salehi, the Director of the Sustainable Development Department, emphasized that implementing such programs and celebrating Earth Day underscores the importance of the Earth, tree planting, and environmental conservation
