Under the generous patronage of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and under the direct supervision of Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications, an applied training workshop was held on Saturday, 12th of July 2025, as part of the summer training program for the students of the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ skills in preparing and delivering presentations using artificial intelligence tools. During the session, students prepared technical presentations utilizing AI tools, then presented them in front of their peers in an interactive and engaging environment. Programmer Ms. Sarah Sadoon Abbas led the discussion following each presentation, highlighting the students’ strengths while addressing areas for improvement, and offering guidance to develop their public speaking and content organization abilities. The session focused on designing a smart system using Arduino and gas sensors to detect flammable gas leaks and automatically trigger an audible alarm to ensure safety. The hands-on component included building a working prototype, reading sensor data, programming the alert mechanism, and integrating electronic components in a real-world simulation. The workshop also addressed the relevance of such systems in home and industrial safety, highlighting their role within IoT (Internet of Things) applications and encouraging students to explore practical, tech-based solutions to everyday challenges.
