Part of the applied projects of students in the field of clean sustainable energy, which support SDGs, specifically, SDG7, and under direct supervision of Assist. Prof. Dr. Azhar M. Abed, Head of Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineering Techniques Department, and the academic Zahra Fakhri, a solar heater compound in a parabolic shape has been designed and manufactured. This design has been manufactured of an area of 2.924 square meter, using a radiation reflector and a hollow glass receiver. An electronic circuit has been used for reading purposes as well as a sunlight tracking device, and water being utilized as a heat medium. Besides, the system has also been equipped with a tank utilized for storing. Experiments have been performed at the College Campus in Al-Hilla. After registering the incoming and exiting temperatures, the thermal performance of the solar compound has been calculated. The acquired energy of the heater has been estimated as well. In general, the study shows that we can benefit from this globally used technology for generating clean sustainable energy for the long term, and in accordance with the circumstances of the country.
