Real-time systems (RTS) depend on the time elapsed since they start processing data in tries until the outputs are known. One of the most important features is that the response time of these systems must be predictable and limited.
Some types of RTS are:
- Conventional real-time systems: systems in which their tasks are running a single processor.
- Distributed real-time systems: systems in which not all tasks are running on the same processor. In addition, these systems can be strongly coupled when processors are working with the same operating system. Some of the features of these systems of real-time distribution are systems concurrent, reagent systems, systems that operate in environments hard (high temperatures, noise, etc.), and systems that are inherently reliable and tolerant to failures.
